I am so excited that the rain held off for the forest run. I want to give a special thank you to Marlene Allen for all her support and help, after calling her at work in almost tears that I was lost in the woods. I worried about all you runners! But after Marlene and I go into the beautiful forest and marked it I knew you would all love it. Thanks to Paul Kraus for being at the critical turn for the 2 mile loop and helping you all get back to the start, Bob Thompson and Gayle Patrice for having water to prepare for those nasty hills, and all the other helpers at the finish line. There was a new special person that helped me at the finish line timing, Kevin Lennox came to my rescue to help using the chronomix. After we still couldn’t figure out how to get the tape to work he calmed me by letting me know that the data was all stored and we would get the correct info. Well he was right! And all went well. Thanks to Yoon for all the great pictures and getting the results on the website fast. The party afterwards at the Burgers’ house was as great as always. What a wonderful family and special time to have a beer and salute Ken Young for all the years of running that he loved. Well next year Matt and Karen Kidwell will be directing this run, so please come out and support them. Thank you! -- Sherry
