Master’s Race 10K

        Another Clam Beach Master’s race is in the books. We were lucky to squeeze our race in between storm systems. The day before the race was very rainy and it started to rain again shortly after the race. Thirty four runners were treated to and tortured by calm muggy conditions.

        Last year we had two first time winners and now they have both made it two in a row with faster times than a year ago! Laura McNulty ran a sub 40 minute race followed by Chris Hamer and Marlene Allen. In the men’s race Reed Richard overcame a sore hamstring to outrun Yoshi Uemura and Dale Bagley. We had several new runners in this year’s race and everyone was happy to see Charlie Lawrence running again.

        On a sad note: Jim Ely passed away recently. Jim was an SRRC regular for many years and will be missed by all of us that had the pleasure to have known him!

        Many THANKS to Phil Lescano for taking care of the food and drinks. Once again Marlene treated us all to brownies. Jurgen brought his big umbrella and Sherry supplied the table again. Thanks to Cody Thompson and Cindy & Gary Timek and of course, thanks to Yoon for his photos and for personally sampling each and every food item to make sure they were suitable for all you runners.
